Race Report Part #1I got up at 3:45am, Ate breakfast at the hotel and by 4:15 I was on my way to double check my bike and gear bags. It was then a mile walk down the road to the dock where I would spend the next hour and 45 minutes waiting for the race to start. But it was worth the wait because I had an awesome spot and it only took me three minutes to enter the water. (with the rolling start, it takes about 45 mins to get everyone in the water). I wasn’t too nervous while I was waiting. i passed the time by watching the other athletes are they arrived, talking to the people sitting next to me. When they opened the dock for us to move forward my stomach became a bit nervous. I ignored the feeling of having to pee again, because i knew it was just nerves. As we moved forward the entrance was lined with supporters cheering us on. My nerves settled down and I moved forward full of excitement, finding it hard to believe that I was here… about to start a full ironman. I knew not to think too far ahead, that it was going to be a long day. So I turned my thoughts towards the swim and prepared the enter the water.
